The JPIC commissions of Central America and Mexico want to carry out a joint effort, united as a Franciscan Family, to live this global campaign of the Franciscan charism, where Franciscans and Franciscans will undertake a year of celebrations and activities that promote and live the values of the Encyclical Laudato Si ‘.

Our proposal for action has points, it initially includes two particularities, the situation of “The Covid-19 Pandemic and the Ecological Conversion”. Therefore, some of these actions will have to be from “home”, considering that ecological conversion implies a personal and community process, in this context starting from the particular or local, then to the general or regional.

There is a growing jurisprudence dealing with the reduction of pollution by business activities. But political and institutional frameworks do not exist simply to avoid bad practice, but also to promote best practice, to stimulate creativity in seeking new solutions and to encourage individual or group initiatives. The festival of “Good practices at home for the care of creation” aims to raise awareness, reflection and analysis of what we must do from the family environment to achieve responsible and sustainable consumption with actions that allow an integral ecology in families .

This festival seeks that each family through the recording of a video can present a daily practice that they carry out at home as a family for the care of the common home, that is why participating in this festival unites us as a society to seek alternatives that are friendly with the environment.
