Queridos hermanos, quiero compartirles algunas actividades e ideas de nuestra Revolución Laudato Si’.
Plan de las ideas. El primer pensamiento es que todas las ideas que tienen relación con la casa común, la creación, son ideas que deben tener manos y pies. No pueden quedarse solamente en discursos. Este principio orienta todo tipo de iniciativas.
Para ponernos a la escucha de la creación, en los encuentros es buena práctica poner una silla vacía (ojalá en la mesa de los invitados) donde esté escrita una de estas palabras “Naturaleza”, o “Biodiversidad”, o “Clima”, o “Continente azul”, etc. Para suscitar la reflexión sobre el hecho de que somos seres humanos que hablamos y decidimos por ella; pero ella habla de otra manera: responde y/o restituye de acuerdo con nuestros comportamientos e interacciones más o menos responsables.
Otro aspecto: a cada encuentro debe seguir la adopción de una decisión que se convierta en un estilo de vida: como, por ejemplo, disponer de los desechos, plantar árboles, cultivar, consumir de modo responsable, orientarse por el uso de energías renovables, acciones concretas para manejar el recurso del agua, como puedes ver en las imágenes de paneles solares en un pueblo donde ayudamos en el servicio pastoral.
Otro nivel de compromiso de nuestra Misión Franciscana es la de contribuir no sólo a la difusión comunitaria de estas ideas y prácticas, sino también intervenir junto a las débiles autoridades políticas para que desarrollen respuestas en esta misma dirección, sin las cuales nos hundimos en un mar de basura cada vez más visible. El reciclaje y la reutilización de las cosas es imperativo si queremos permitir existir a los otros en el mañana. Literalmente estamos consumiendo un (el) mundo de millares de años, reduciéndole su masa visible a favor de un ser humano que vive pocos años y luego desaparece…
Esto nos está moviendo a reflexionar sobre qué y cómo construimos edificios para diversos fines. Por ejemplo, cuando hayamos agotado los yacimientos, ¿Con qué construiremos? ¿Tumbaremos construcciones antiguas para reciclar sus materiales? ¿Reutilizaremos mejor las construcciones ya existentes? ¿Finalmente plantaremos millones de árboles para volver a construir casas de madera porque las plantas vuelven a crecer en cambio los yacimientos no? ¿Cambiaremos de estilo de vida?
Todas estas ideas/prácticas tienen un marco que, como animador de JPIC en Guinea-Bisau, he querido denominar Green African Generation (Generación verde africana), como ya estamos experimentando. Es decir, toda iniciativa humana debe tener en cuenta su sostenibilidad ambiental. Debe ser eco-compatible. Garantiza la vida no sólo del ambiente, sino también de nosotros mismos que somos parte de la creación, de la cual no podemos prescindir.
Para cerrar con una reflexión actual: no podemos limitarnos a combatir un Coronavirus invisible utilizando respiradores de fabricación humana para tener oxígeno, y mientras tanto seguimos matando la reserva de oxígeno natural que son las plantas y los organismos vegetales marinos. Las palabras de la reciente víctima del racismo George Floyd I can’t breath (No puedo respirar), son una señal de alarma para la humanidad entera: todos corremos el peligro de ya no poder respirar.
Podemos revolucionar y renovar nuestra alianza con la Madre Naturaleza. Con la intercesión de San Francisco, creemos que donde sea que nuestras sandalias dejen una huella, será una respuesta ecológica amorosa al regalo de la vida de Dios.
