Con estas palabras, el 11 de agosto de 2020, Fr. Oscar Méndez, OFM, párroco de la parroquia Misión San Luis Rey en Oceanside, California, bendijo los nuevos paneles solares para la parroquia. Era justo que se hiciera esto en el contexto de la fiesta de Santa Clara, cuyo nombre en italiano, Chiara, significa luz. El proyecto de inicio a fin tardó poco más de un año, ya que los planes se desarrollaron después de haberlos presentado a las autoridades de la ciudad de Oceanside y de la San Diego Gas & Electric Company para su aprobación, finalmente tenemos la construcción actual. Por supuesto, también hay ahorros financieros significativos. En el primer año, se espera un ahorro de entre US$20,000 – 25,000, resultando en más de US$1.1 millones en 25 años. También proporcionan una agradable sombra en el estacionamiento de la iglesia.
