Desde su nacimiento la Orden Franciscana siempre ha estado estrechamente unida a la naturaleza y por consiguiente a su salvaguarda. Nuestro Seráfico Padre San Francisco nos enseñó, y todavía nos guía a vivir en armonía con nuestros hermanos y hermanas, a respetar y contemplar toda la creación de Dios.
La Provincia del Santísimo Nombre de Jesús del Brasil, situada en la región central del país (Goiás, Tocantins y el Distrito Federal), ha procurado realizar un audaz proyecto de sostenibilidad de la energía fotovoltaica, es decir, proveniente del Hermano Sol. En el proyecto han colaborado la Oficina del Servicio de Justicia, Paz e Integridad de la Creación (JPIC) y el Secretariado Provincial para la Evangelización y la Misión.
Hemos estudiado la tecnología de la energía solar por casi un año y hemos tratado de comprender su funcionamiento, las ventajas y los gastos financieros. Además la Oficina de JPIC y la dirección administrativa de la Provincia han desarrollado unos criterios específicos. Por tanto, hemos seguido a los que han colaborado y hemos adquirido las informaciones sobre cómo obtener el 100% de producción de modo que se atiendan todos nuestros conventos y casas para la evangelización.
Hoy la Provincia tiene las siguientes estructuras:
- Fundación Fray Juan Bautista Vogel: es responsaable de tres estaciones de radio en Anápolis y Catalao. Funciona como medio para proporcionar un servicio a la comunidad y una expresión significativa en el área social, cultural y política.
- Proyecto “Educar para la Vida”: en Pires do Rio se trabaja con niños socialmente vulnerables. Comprende casas de formación para aspirantes, postulantes, novicios, estudiantes de post-noviciado y centro de espiritualidad franciscana. Son tres escuelas y conventos que sostienen la evangelización de las parroquias dispersas en la vasta región central del Brasil.
Atualmente existen cinco instalaciones:
- La instalación de San Antonio en el Distrito Federal está destinada al Colegio y al convento de San Antonio.
- La instalación Regina Minorum en el área de la casa de espiritualidad y del convento Regina Minorum en Anápolis es para la Fundación Juan Bautista Voguel, los conventos, las hermanas Clarisas y la casa Betania.
- La instalación de San Francisco de Asís, en Anápolis está destinada a la escuela y al teatro de San Francisco.
- La instalación Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, situada junto a la escuela Sagrado Corazón de Jesús en Pires do Rio, es para la escuela misma y el conjunto de San Buenaventura donde se encuentran la casa de noviciado interprovincial de la Orden y otras oficinas de la Provincia.
- La instalación Divina Providencia en Aguacerma está destinada al convento y a la parroquia de las ciudades de Araguacema y Lajeado.
En cuanto al alcance del proyecto, la instalación de Regina Minorum reduce mensualmente 13,9 toneladas de emisiones de CO2, lo que equivale a preservar 356 árboles. Además de la ganancia financiera derivada de la disminución de la factura de energía, damos una nueva posibilidad a la vida humana.
La Provincia quiere dar nuevos pasos hacia un estilo de vida sostenible con acciones concretas. En efecto, de esta manera contribuiremos a un mundo mejor. Estamos agradecidos a los hermanos de la Provincia que han creído en este nuevo modo de vivir hoy como franciscanos.
